Medicaid Bahama Mama – AG Liz Murrill’s Office Arrests Louisiana woman for Medicaid Fraud
Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit arrested a White Castle woman for Medicaid Fraud.
65-year-old Sharon Molden, of CPL Herman Brown Jr. Street in White Castle, was arrested on the following charge:
Molden was arrested on Sept. 24, 2026, for one count of LA RS 14:70.1 Medicaid Fraud (Felony) for billing for services not rendered. Molden claims to have provided services as a direct service worker on multiple dates and at times that she was either out of town and/or outside the state of Louisiana.
On one such occasion - through investigative means, MFCU agents obtained time sheets and service logs for services purportedly provided by Molden. MFCU agents found that Molden has a public open Facebook account. The review of Molden's Facebook account revealed her secondary employment with Primerica. Molden had several posts indicating that she was out of town and/or outside the state of Louisiana, which conflicted with the dates and times of Medicaid services she documented as having provided. For example, on February 12, 2023, Molden posted on Facebook with corresponding pictures, “Enjoying an All-Expense Paid Trip to Nassau Bahamas with Top Earners In the PRIMERICA Business!!” Molden simultaneously documented that she rendered Medicaid services from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on the same date. Agents then obtained records to verify the trip.

Sharon Molden surrendered herself and was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Bond information is unknown at this time.

The Louisiana MFCU receives 75 percent of its funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under a grant award totaling $10,000,340 for Federal fiscal year (FY) 25/26. The remaining 25 percent, totaling $3,333,443 for FY 25/26, is funded by Louisiana.
